Justice league Watchtower, Earth's orbit over Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
------9:17 PM Pacific Standard time-------
Quick yet meticulous fingers fly from keyboard to command pad as ever watchful eyes jump in perfectly timed intervals between monitor screens of various size. "It cant be built, let alone monitored by one man.." Thats what they said, those that were there from the beginning, to witness its creation. "Sure we have the resources.....but, it would take a genius to put it all together. A miracle even!" Hands that demand control continue to apply the full potential of the endless sensors, scanners, integrated emergency networks, and world wide communication grids that are the heart and soul of the Justice League's international surveillance and defense matrix. All contained comfortably in a single, but huge, command station deep within the JLA watchtower.
Mr. Terrific:
"...and thats just what they got. A miracle."
Despite the wishes of the Martian Manhunter, Mr. Terrific was quite happy with the 16 hour shift he frequently, and was currently in the full on swing of. He always thought that because he was the one who had built it, that he was the best to run it. As he did as often as he could, he would sleep for seven, work for seventeen. "Talk about overtime", was a increasingly overused comment. Though it was true that only one other Leaguer put in more time than Mr.Terrific, he didn't let the comments get to him....in fact he embraced it. Who was he to compete with Batman anyway?
Mr. Terrific:
"....Mr. Terrific!..Thats who!"...OK ok ok. Lets not let the job get to you Michael. (Frowns) Geeze, talking to myself again...thats the first sign old buddy. Lets have a look around then. North America. Check. Canada. Check. Europe. All clear. Africa. Looks' g"...
The multi digital screen if front of him lights up with caution bars with regard to a growing output of high level radiation in the most southern tip of south Africa. Instantly accessing ultra long range energy sensors, created by none other that himself, Terrific attempts to find the source.
Mr. Terrific:
"...Well now what have we here? ...WOW! These are off the cart! Where is all this coming from?!? There has to be a centraliz...THERE!....Oh S#!&."
In seconds an all frequency emergency call rings out to all out-bound leaguers for immediate action. Few are available,....fewer are close enough..
Mr. Terrific:
"This is a distress one, yellow emergency! There is a situation in South Africa that needs immediate attention. All available members in that sector are to respond for immediate briefing. Again this is a distress one, yellow emergency!"
Terrific waits patiently as agonizing seconds go by with just the hush of com static as his response.
Mr. Terrific: (to himself)
"......come on ...who's out there?".......
